READ BEAUTYFUL* STORIES

SOSOADAE is a publishing brand for fiction about “all of the things we cannot tell.” For titles in development, see “Our Books.
The word “soso adae” comes from Akan-Twi and translates into English as “to dream.”

How to use this website:

Meet the author, her books, and their world via the “Who We Are,” “What We Publish,” and “Our World” links.

Click “Play + SOSOADAE” to steam audio releases (poems, songs, and shouts) on Spotify. One of my favorites is the track titled, “The Fourth of July.”

Click the “What is ADF” link on the top menu to read a semi-academic description of African dramatic form.

Click the “Editorials” link on the top menu and scroll though blog posts to see articles and advocacy of which I am proud (Not all articles are showing, and I will fix this).

Meet the author, her books, and her brand via the SOSOADAE world

I write using a style that I call African dramatic form (ADF), which understands story as ritual space and intentional movement that is generally all of informative, entertaining, and transformative.

Central to ADF design is the ritual movement through a problem to its solution and afterlife (this is, defining the problem, solving the problem, and then developing the story beyond a problem’s solution).

You can become a SOSOADAE + Friend on Substack. SOSOADAE Friends receive exclusive content, such as progress reports and writing journal-ish posts reflective about ADF in an accessible way, such as in my own art and that of others. Get original artwork and musical sketches from works-in-progress and have the opportunity to be a Beta reader for new books!

How to write a story about a paper cup

It has been said that this is the true tell of a great writer, so I made it an exercise. Click “The Paper Cup,” top menu link for this series.
