The Feb 12 episode of Meet The Press has former Virginia Senator Jim Webb eager to explain how the Left lost the “White Working Class” vote in November’s election:

The Democratic Party has moved very far to the left […] When you can’t have a Jefferson-Jackson dinner […] because they were slave holders — They were also great Americans, in their day — something is different.”

This is a very dangerous statement. Webb rather immodestly and unapologetically presents for (re)consideration an America in which Blacks can become enslaved and those trading in their full or fractional bodies given the moral space to be considered, “Great Americans.”

This is an unacceptable and disgustingly direct attack by Webb on the agency of Black Americans in an attempt to uphold and reinstall White Working Class identity as the only allowable ‘minority’ politics.

MTP Host and moderator Chuck Todd should have severely shut this logic down as unconstitutional, anti-American, and therefore, off the table in our day and for all time.
